We value your relationship with Fayetteville Public Utilities, and we will do everything we can to protect your personal information and customer records at FPU. As a customer of FPU, you're carefully protected by a privacy policy where personal information is strictly treated as confidential. After all, customer trust is at the heart of every FPU relationship. It's because you trust FPU that we're here to serve you. FPU does not sell or share your personal information with any outside, non-affiliated person, company or organization, except in legally permitted circumstances. For example, responding to a court order, law enforcement officer or reporting to the credit bureau. We believe our customers have this exception of privacy, and we intend to honor it. Customer information includes all of the information about you that Fayetteville Public Utilities collects in the course of providing or offering our services to you. We understand your concerns about recent occurrences such as identity theft, and we employ standard identification procedures designed to deter these situations. Protecting your confidentiality is important to us. We will maintain our efforts to protect your customer information at FPU even when you are no longer a customer. All of your closed and inactive utility accounts will continue to be covered under the privacy policies and practices described in this statement.
