| On June 8, 1898, Fayetteville Installed its present water works system. |
| In 1944 the Tennessee Department of Public Health officially recognized the system as "a public water supply." |
| Today, our system produces 1.8 million gallons of potable (drinkable) water per day for our customers. We have a capability of producing 3.4 million more gallons of water per day remaining for the future growth of our community. |
Detailed Design Criteria are as follows:
- Capacity: 5,200,000 GPD -or- 3,600 GPM
- Current Consumption: 1,800,000 GPD
- Storage Capacity: 4,200,000
- Peak Demand: 2,700,000
- 118 miles of distribution pipe that carries water to our customers throughout our system with three pumping stations along its routes.
